Thank you to everyone who came to our community creative thinking session at Newhouse Farm on Sunday the 22nd February to brainstorm ideas for our community investment plans.
We invited fifteen of our community supporters to find out what they think we should consider when planning the business operation of the village shop and Elmswood House.
This event focused on finding out what Tywardreath means to us as a place to live, the types of people who live here and what we need to do with our social enterprise activities in these businesses to benefit the community – by continuing what is already working and doing more things to make a greater social impact.
There were many ideas created in the two hour session and offers of support to help us make these things happen. Over the coming weeks we will be putting the best ideas into action, especially those that will help us provide more services to support older residents who are isolated at home due to illness or disability. We also will be doing more for the young people of the village.
You can see some of the results from this creative thinking session in the next post.
If you live locally and would like to join us for our next creative thinking session we will be running it at the beginning of March, please send us a message here. We will be running these sessions for people who want to apply for a job or work alongside us with their own small business.
