Get Involved – Community Food Growing and Sharing Scheme at Newhouse Farm

This Summer Tywardreath village shop and Elmswood House will be owned and run by Hunter Grange Investments Ltd as a social enterprise for the benefit of the community. At our premises at Newhouse Farm we are collaborating with Tywardreath Gardening Club members to create a community food growing and sharing scheme.

veg gardenWe are turning a plot of land at the farm into a vegetable and fruit growing area to supply locally grown produce for the shop.  We will fund and manage the plot and co-ordinate activities to create the food sharing scheme.  As the scheme develops and the plants become productive we will start to organise locally grown produce sharing activities.

We want to involve local people of all ages in activities to tend and harvest the plants, but first we need to make and plant the plot.  If you are a member of the Tywardreath Gardening Club and want to lend us a hand we will be working on the garden at Newhouse Farm every Sunday between 10am – 12pm starting from the 30th April.
